A single accent nail costs far less than ten painted nails, so if you are working to a budget, ask for art on two nails and a solid holiday color on the rest.
When to Book Your Christmas Nails
The two weeks before Christmas and the days before New Year’s Eve are the busiest of the year. Book one to two weeks ahead for detailed art, and earlier if you need a specific technician. A gel or Gel X set done around December 18 to 20 will still look fresh on Christmas Day and can carry you into New Year’s.
How to Get the Set You Actually Want
- Bring two or three inspiration photos, not one, so your artist sees the style you like.
- Decide on length and shape before you arrive. Short squoval is easy for the office; long almond or coffin photographs better at parties.

How long do Christmas nails last?
A gel manicure lasts about two to three weeks, and a Gel X set about three to four weeks, so a set done in mid-December usually carries you through New Year’s.
