A lash lift curls and darkens the lashes you already have, so you can skip the curler and, for many people, the mascara. This guide is for anyone who is still deciding: it explains what happens to your lashes, how a lift compares with extensions and a lash perm, how to prepare, and how to look after the result. If you are ready to book, our service page has the details and starting prices for lash lift and tint in Las Vegas.

What a lash lift actually does
Each natural lash is rested on a silicone shield. A lifting solution softens the bond in the hair, and a neutralizing solution then sets the new curve. The lashes stay yours. They are simply lifted from the root so they open the eye rather than pointing straight out or down.
A tint is a gentle dye applied over the lifted lashes. It darkens the pale, fine tips that mascara usually covers, so the lash line looks fuller with nothing on it. Many people book the two together because a lift on untinted lashes can look shorter than it is.

Lash lift vs. lash extensions vs. a lash perm
- Lash lift and tint. Curls and darkens natural lashes. No fills and nothing to keep topped up. It will not add length, so very short or sparse lashes see a smaller change.
- Lash extensions. Individual lashes are added to your own for length, volume or a dramatic look, and they need fills. Learn more on our lash extensions page, or read the guide to mega volume lashes.
- Lash perm. The word is often used for the same process as a lift. The terms overlap, so ask your technician exactly what she plans to do and what rod size she will use.
If you want curl and a little extra, talk through a lift and tint first. Some people later add a few extensions as accents, and your technician can advise you on timing.
Is a lash lift right for you?
- You have decent natural length but your lashes grow straight out or point down.
- You want to stop wearing mascara every day.
- You are traveling, getting married or heading to the pool and do not want to think about your eyes.
- You have worn extensions and want a break while your natural lashes recover.
- You want something low-maintenance with no fills.
Tell your technician about any eye irritation, allergies, sensitivities or recent eye procedures when you book. If the timing is not right, we will tell you rather than go ahead.
How to prepare
- Arrive with clean lashes and without mascara or eye makeup if you can. If you are wearing it, tell the technician so it can be removed.
- Take out contact lenses before you start, and bring glasses for afterward if you wear them.
- Plan for about 45 to 60 minutes. You lie back with your eyes closed the whole time, and there is no downtime afterward.
- If you want a brow tint or brow wax as well, ask for it when you book so the time is set aside. Lash lift, lash tint, brow tint and brow wax can be scheduled back to back.
Aftercare for the first day and beyond
- Keep lashes dry for the first 24 hours: no shower steam, pool or sauna.
- Skip mascara and oil-based cleansers for the first day. After that, wash and sleep normally.
- Do not use a lash curler on a lifted set.
- A lash serum or a little castor oil can keep lashes conditioned.
- Rebook around six to eight weeks rather than letting the lift grow fully out.
The lift holds for roughly six to eight weeks, until the lashes it was applied to shed naturally and new ones grow in. The tint fades a little sooner, usually four to six weeks. Because it grows out rather than falling off, there is no awkward halfway stage. Spacing lifts six to eight weeks apart also gives your lashes time between treatments.
