What hybrid gel actually is
Hybrid gel sits between soft gel polish and the harder enhancement systems. It cures under a lamp like gel polish, but it is thicker in the bottle and self-levelling, so your technician can build a little strength and apex into the nail rather than just laying colour on top.
That middle ground is the whole point. Regular gel polish is only as strong as the nail underneath it, so if your nails bend or peel, the polish goes with them. Acrylic and hard gel solve that but add noticeable thickness and weight. Hybrid gel reinforces what you already have, stays flexible, and still looks like a natural nail from an arm’s length away.
It is applied to your own nail, not to a tip, so it does not add length. If you want longer nails, that is a Gel X or acrylic conversation instead.

Hybrid Gel (Organic) starts at $75. Every technician at NAB sets their own pricing, so where your final number lands depends on who you book with, the shape and length you choose, and how much art goes on top. A single colour and a hand-painted design are very different amounts of work.

How long it lasts
Most people are looking at two to three weeks before the regrowth line starts to show. What actually ends a set is almost never the gel failing, it is your nails growing. Fast growers book closer to two weeks, and if you work with your hands, do a lot of washing up, or are at the gym constantly, plan at the shorter end.
Las Vegas adds its own wrinkle. The dry air here is hard on the skin around your nails more than on the gel itself, so cuticle oil matters more in this city than it does most places.

What the appointment is like
Your technician starts by shaping and prepping the natural nail, pushing back cuticles and buffing off shine so the gel has something to grip. There is no heavy drilling into the nail plate for hybrid gel. Thin layers go on and cure under the lamp one at a time, with the apex built where your nail needs support, then colour or art, then a top coat and cuticle oil.
Budget around an hour to an hour and a half for a full set, and a little longer if you are adding detailed art.
Looking after hybrid gel between fills
- Cuticle oil daily — the single thing that most changes how a set ages, especially in this climate
- Gloves for cleaning and dishes
- Do not use your nails as tools, and do not pick at a lifted edge
- Come in for removal rather than peeling a set off, which takes layers of your natural nail with it
- Book your fill before the regrowth line gets wide, which keeps the structure intact

Is hybrid gel the same as builder gel?
They overlap, and salons use the names loosely. Both are overlay systems meant to strengthen your natural nail. Our hybrid gel is an organic formula and we price it separately from builder gel. If you have had one and liked or hated it, tell your technician which and why.
Does hybrid gel damage your natural nail?
Applied and removed properly, no. Damage almost always comes from one of two things: aggressive drilling during prep, or picking a set off at home. We prep without heavy drilling and we would much rather you come in for a proper removal.
Can I get nail art on hybrid gel?
