The short answer: for holiday party nails, New Year’s Eve or a big event weekend in Las Vegas, book your nails one to two weeks ahead and plan the appointment for one to three days before the event. Evenings and Saturdays fill first, and NAB Nail Bar is open until 11 PM Monday to Saturday, so an after-work slot is usually the easiest way to fit it in. We are closed on Sunday, so do not leave it to the Sunday before.
December in Vegas stacks up fast: office parties, friends in town, shows, then New Year’s Eve. Here is when to book, which shapes cope best with a long weekend or a flight, and what to show your technician.
How far ahead to book
A simple rule for the season:
- Holiday parties in early and mid December: book about a week ahead. If your party is on a Friday or Saturday night, you are competing with everyone else who has a party that weekend.
- Christmas week and New Year’s Eve: book two weeks or more ahead, especially if you want an evening slot. Holiday-week hours can change, so call to confirm.
- Big event weekends (a fight night, a concert, a convention, friends flying in): book as soon as you have your plans. A Thursday or Friday appointment means your nails are fresh for the whole weekend.
Getting detailed art, extensions and a pedicure in one visit? Say so when you book so we can hold enough time.

Pick the right day for the appointment
One to three days before the event is the sweet spot: the set is fresh and there is still time for a small adjustment.
- Weekend events: aim for Thursday or Friday. We are closed on Sunday, so a Sunday appointment is not an option for a Sunday brunch or a Monday flight home.
- New Year’s Eve: book a day or two before rather than trying to squeeze in a set on the night.
- Several events in a row: book once, early in the run, and pick a design that works for all of them (more on that below).
Use the late hours
Because we are open late until 11 PM, Monday to Saturday, you do not need to take time off work in a busy month. Come in after work, or book a slot before dinner and a night out. The last appointment is at 10:30 PM. For anything detailed after 9 PM, such as a full set with hand-painted art, book ahead or call first so the time is reserved rather than walking in and hoping.
Shapes and finishes for a long weekend or travel
How long any set holds up depends on your natural nails, how you use your hands and how you look after them, so there is no single answer. That said, some choices are more forgiving when you are carrying luggage, opening hotel doors and dancing until late:
- Extensions over plain polish. If you want length, Gel X extensions or another enhancement give you a stronger nail than polish alone on short natural nails.
- Almond or a softer stiletto if you are travelling. Very long, sharp stilettos look incredible at a party but take more care with zips, buckles and phone screens.
- Flatter details on the hands you use most. Big crystals and charms catch on hair and fabric. Keep the 3D pieces to one or two accent nails if you will be packing and unpacking.
- Gloss or matte, both are fine, but matte can show marks from handbags and rough surfaces more easily than a high-shine top coat.
Pack a cuticle oil and a nail file. If something lifts or chips, do not pick at it; call us.

Choose a design that works for more than one event
If you have a work party on Friday, a family dinner the week after and New Year’s Eve after that, one very themed set might not suit all three. Two ways to handle it:
- Neutral base, one or two statement nails. A nude, pink or warm brown base with a plaid accent, a French edge or a line of gold looks festive without feeling like a costume.
- Go fully seasonal for one big night. Snowflakes, a sweater-knit texture or a hand-painted character are fun when the set is for one event. Book the next set for New Year’s Eve.
Gold, red, black and sparkle carry from Christmas right through to New Year’s Eve, so they are a safe bet if you only want one appointment. For more ideas, see our Christmas nail designs and New Year’s Eve nail ideas.

What to bring a reference photo of
Words like “short”, “nude” or “sparkly” mean different things to different people. A few screenshots save a lot of back and forth:
- The shape and length you want, even if it is from a different design.
- The exact colour, ideally a photo in daylight, because indoor light changes how a nude or a red looks.
- The one detail you care about most, such as a chrome finish, a particular charm or a hand-painted design.
- Your outfit or the colours of the event, if you want the nails to match.
If the design is detailed, mention it when you book so the right amount of time is held. You can see the kind of freestyle and hand-painted work our technicians do on our custom nail art page.

Do not forget your toes
Open-toe heels for a party, a pool day at the hotel or simply a lot of time on your feet over a long weekend are all good reasons to add a pedicure to the same visit. Booking hands and feet together means one appointment instead of two in an already busy week. All the options are on our pedicure and manicure page.

Holiday and event nail questions
How far in advance should I book nails for New Year’s Eve?
Two weeks or more is a good idea, and plan the appointment for a day or two before December 31. Evening slots that week go first, and holiday-week hours can change, so call to confirm.
Can I get my nails done after work in December?
Yes. We are open until 11 PM Monday to Saturday, with the last appointment at 10:30 PM. For detailed art late in the evening, book ahead or call first.
Can I book a Sunday appointment before an event?
No, NAB Nail Bar is closed on Sunday. For a weekend event or a Monday flight, book on Thursday, Friday or Saturday instead.
How long will my holiday set last?
It depends on your natural nails, the type of set and how you care for it. Ask your technician which option suits your plans.
